Motivation
The exploration of the universe is an infinite journey, so we need as many young people to contribute to it. However, current young people are deterred from doing so by following factors: lack of information about astronomy and financial restrictions. To be more specific, I found that the current education system doesn’t really teach astronomy, one of the oldest fields of study of human beings, so the next generation doesn’t have enough knowledge about the universe. Next, because astronomy is a theoretical field of study, many young people are forced to give up on astronomy due to family financial conditions.
Our Plan
Fundraise
We have a cooperation with Lightaid, a 501c(3) nonprofit organization. We are going to fundraise by public donation, requesting sponsorship from companies and boba sales etc.
get connections
After fundraising, we are going to outreach to underdeveloped areas in the US and Mexico.
Put in actions
We plan to send financial donations to the local Non-Government organizations (NGOs) and we are going to purchase books for schools.
Our vision
As a scholarship founded by high school students, we are deeply committed to maximizing our impact with the resources and abilities we have available. Our immediate focus is on creating meaningful opportunities for students with a passion for astronomy, but we recognize that this is just the beginning. Once we enter college, our vision is to significantly expand StellarQuest by partnering with other individuals and organizations that share our goals. By collaborating on a national scale, we hope to build a larger, more far-reaching scholarship program that can offer greater support and resources to students pursuing their academic interests in astronomy. Ultimately, our long-term goal is to transform StellarQuest into an internationally recognized scholarship that empowers students worldwide. Our dream is to inspire curiosity and exploration by sharing the beauty of the universe with the younger generation, and help them discover their potential within the field of astronomy.
